Bel-Nar is a samurai warrior sworn to the Samurai Lord Matsunori Chosokabe. The young warrior is athletic and stoic, filled with a deep sense of loyalty and samurai honor.
Most samurai speak of honor and loyalty is just opium for the masses, like the code of chivalry in countries like Perrin, Aimilieuse, and Hesse. It is not unlike a massive public relations campaign designed to inspire awe in the populace. But Bel-Nar believes the samurai order would be far stronger if each samurai tried to live up to these ideals in earnest.
In his day-to-day life, there is little that distinguishes Bel-Nar from the other samurai who are his peers. He goes about his life training, exercising, and fitting in—until the day he is given an order that puts his life in danger and challenges his beliefs to the core.
