Rubati is a young Akkadian woman of noble birth, daughter to Mushezibitu, sworn to her commanding officer, Pa-pa Sarva of Akkadia in the elite Qurubuti Guard. Warrior trained since birth, she works diligently and longs for the day when she will become a commander in her own right, when she will join the ranks of other great Akkadian military leaders. But to achieve those dreams, she must be patient and serve her master judiciously at the rank of nu-banda. In other kingdoms of the empire, Rubati’s position is similar to that of a squire serving a knight.
Those who serve with Rubati know her as strong, intense, intelligent, and strikingly beautiful. She has trained since childhood in the ways of Akkadian customs and is accomplished with most martial weapons. Now she is learning what it means to be an Akkadian.
Akkadia is one of the larger continents of Chaldea. It is an island-continent, like Perrin or Ata-Aimilleuse, and can only be reached from other lands by navigating the Great Sea. Akkadia is also the name of the empire that rules this continent and the people who are citizens of this empire are known as Akkadians. The Akkadian empire is composed of several kingdoms, the most prominent of which is Babil, which dominates the central, wealthiest region of Akkadia. The dominant ethnic group of Akkadia is the Anum people.
