Winter appears in the heavens as a lovely Targonian woman busy at work in the kitchen, toiling tirelessly to prepare harvest goods for winter storage.
Winter has a complex, dual-personality. On one hand, Winter signals the time for careful management of our assets so that we might balance what we consume with what we will need for spring planting, and sternly warns us of the consequences of poor planning, challenging us to learn from our mistakes if we wish to see the future. At the same time, Winter invites us to celebrate our home and family with gifts, song, and hearty food during the yule-tide season.
Winter is companions with Autumn, Spring, and Summer, for each recognizes the importance of all four seasons to create balance in life. Phoenix can sometimes be found during the more violent storms of Winter.
Winter will aid mortal companions who carry its fate card in any action that involves planning, estate management, or holiday celebrations. Winter is particularly inclined to support these sorts of actions during Winter Week, or anytime for those born in this week.
When Winter is Called
If Winter answers a calling---when Winter is drawn from a fate deck during the ritual for summoning aid from anumians---the seeker and the seer will experience minor supernatural manifestations of Winter, like a flurry of snow, the howling of a wolf, or a sudden coating of frost on some nearby object.
Winter will typically ask seekers to help a farming community that has experienced an unjust setback, like dealing with bandits or oppressive lords. Winter may ask a seeker to help a poor family during yule with a hearty meal and presents for the children.
