Defeat appears in the heavens as an unconscious, disheveled Ardayan military commander hanging by the hand of his vanquisher–utterly defeated.
Defeat invites us to always have a contingency, an escape plan, for we shall all know defeat at some point in our lives. Defeat is sometimes accompanied by Grief.
Defeat is enemies with Amazon, Commander, Sailor, and Warrior, for they have each experienced the ignominy of Defeat. Defeat is rivals with Victory and they have fought each other inconclusively many times.
Defeat will aid mortal companions who carry its fate card in very specific actions where failure would mean death. Defeat is particularly inclined to support these sorts of actions during Defeat Week, or anytime for those born in this week.
When Defeat is Called
If Defeat answers a calling---when his card is drawn from a fate deck during the ritual for summoning aid from anumians---the seeker and the seer will experience minor supernatural manifestations of Defeat, like the pitiful sound of someone wailing in anguish, the taste of bile, or an image of a cruel, mocking, face.
In the artwork of the Defeat fate card the seer might be drawn to the look of horror on the face of the military commander, the devil on his back, the plummeting dragon pierced through the heart, or the pristine, unscathed nature of the fortress.
Defeat will typically ask seekers to face their own fear of losing, or perhaps seek out and destroy someone, thus teaching that person the true meaning of failure.
