Death appears in the heavens as a Norse Draugr ghost spirit of the dead.
Death reminds us of the importance of securing our place in the afterlife by showing us the horrors that await those who have failed to do so. Death will sometimes cause those who have not properly moved on to “walk again” especially in places like battlefields where many souls are still bound to the land of the living. This serves as a grim warning to those who ignore his message.
Death is an enemy of Devil, for Devil brings ruin and horror to the souls of mortals, while Death brings peace and rest. Death is sometimes accompanied by Grief.
Death will aid mortal companions who carry its fate card in actions related to preparing for death or working with the dead, including embalming, last rites, magical spells related to protecting the soul; and the use of necromancy. Death is particularly inclined to support these actions during Death Week, or anytime for those born in this week.
When Death is Called `
If Death answers a calling---when his card is drawn from a fate deck during the ritual for summoning aid from anumians---the seeker and the seer will experience minor supernatural manifestations of Death, like the scent of dead flesh, the sound of distant battle, or a feeling of despair.
In the artwork of the Death Fate Card, seers sometimes find meaning in the decay of the Death’s flesh, the Valknut Symbol on the shield which represents death, the silver ring, the black smoke, the lightning, or the burial mound in the shape of a ship.
Death will typically ask seekers to right a wrong which deprived a worthy person of his or her deserved afterlife.
