Ubar is a sirkatu belonging to Sarva, a special status indentured servant. A “legally non-slave” who are guaranteed basic civil rights in Akkadia, like food and lodging. Sarva’s sirkatu wear a special headband emblem demonstrating their sworn fealty to her.
Ubar is an Akkadian military soldier who wears Harranim leather armor, and while he is specially trained and skilled with sword, spear and shield, he prefers a composite bow. Like all Sarva’s sirkatu, Ubar is physically fit, weather worn and experienced martial weapons and tactics, having trained in combat since childhood. Ubar has no inclination who his parents were—like most men of Akkadia, his parents donated their son to the state. Thus, was his fate chosen at an early age, and that fate was to pound dirt in combat and war.
Ubar is the most junior of Sarva’s sirkatu, only recently joining her command. Youthful and handsome, he stands out in the crowd of rough and battle-scored collection of warriors. The novice amongst the bunch, Ubar nervously looks up at Balathu, (physically and figuratively), the senior veteran of Sarva’s sirkatu troops, hoping he will be equal to the task, to meet the high standards the large man demanded.
