Huntsman appears in the heavens holding a bow with arrow nocked at the ready, senses on high alert, ready for Beast to charge.
Huntsman is sightless in the ways of life and death. He keeps the balance, taking up the arrow and bow to protect realms from those who my sully what they do not understand. He treasures the uncivilized wilderness and resents those who would tame it in the name of civilization.
Huntsman is always in conflict with the anumian, Beast. He pursues it relentlessly.
Nabu Pabu writes, “Amazon and Huntsman are clearly attracted to each other, but both are too set in their ways to act upon their feelings---assuming such a thing is even possible among anumians!”
Huntsman will aid mortal companions who carry its fate card in any action that involves advanced wilderness survival skills, like hunting, foraging, tracking, or living off the land. He will also assist in tasks that involve making use of a dead animal for food, hides, or furs. Huntsman is particularly inclined to support these sorts of actions during Huntsman Week, or anytime for those born in this week.
When Huntsman is Called
If Huntsman answers a calling---when his card is drawn from a fate deck during the ritual for summoning aid from anumians---the seeker and the seer will experience minor supernatural manifestations of Huntsman, like the distant sounds of a running beast, the taste of freshly spilled blood, or a vision of a wounded animal in pain.
Huntsman will typically ask seekers to hunt some worthy beast or monster, or live for some time in solitude off the land.
