Grief appears in the heavens as a sad elf maiden singing a melancholy lamentation—her tearful features illuminated brightly by life candles.
Grief invites us to overcome the great losses in our lives through ritual and songs of lamentation.
Grief sometimes accompanies Death or Defeat. Grief is allies with Musician, for Grief’s lamentations are quite moving.
Grief will aid mortal companions who carry its fate card in any action that involves rebuilding one’s life after tragedy. Grief is particularly inclined to support these sorts of actions during Grief Week, or anytime for those born in this week.
When Grief is Called
If Grief answers a calling---when her card is drawn from a fate deck during the ritual for summoning aid from anumians---the seeker and the seer will experience minor supernatural manifestations of Grief, like a feeling of extreme sadness, the sound of elven lamentations, or an image of a coffin resting at the bottom of a grave.
Grief will typically ask seekers to undertake a quest that, if successful, will avert some tragedy.
