Ubar is an Akkadian warrior who serves under Sarva as one of her sirkatu—that is, one of Sarva’s servants and sworn warriors, similar to serfs and men-at-arms in a Western European culture. Ubar is a strong warrior and quite handsome, standing out in the crowd of rough and battle-scored collection of warriors.
Ubar wears leather armor, and he typically carries a spear and shield. He’s also skilled with the sword and composite bow. Like all of Sarva’s sirkatu, Ubar is powerful and experienced, trained in combat since childhood. Ubar has no idea who his parents were—like most men of Akkadia, his parents donated their son to the state. Thus was his fate chosen at an early age, and that fate was to be war.
At the beginning of our story, Sarva and her sirkatu are part of Queen Iltani’s most elite military unit, the Qurubuti Guard. But this all changes dramatically when Sarva attempts to take back what is rightfully hers.
In our series, Ubar is played by Amir Kamali.
The sirkatu and Qurubuti Guard are historical terms from ancient Babylon.
