Bruun-Goor

B R U U N  -  G O O R

Bruun-Goor is one of the five great fortresses of Niesse ruled by Sureniel.

Fortress Fact: Bruun is the largest dam in the world both by height and reservoir volume and accounts for the majority of Niesse’s freshwater reserves supplied to the subterranean undercroft.

Od Veggborg, (the original dwarven name), is a monstrosity of dwarven engineering 426-meters tall. The main citadel structure adds an additional 243-meters to it's already impressive sheer face, bringing the entire structure from the valley floor to the top of the highest tower, a lofty 670-meters.

The dwarves engineered the dam as a multipurpose defense mechanism. By pure height it is unassailable by conventional militaries, but the devious dwarves intended the dam as offensive weapon as well, used against attacking armies—releasing the waters to flood the lower valley.

The five great fortresses of Niesse were built by the dwarves pre-Claw Hammer War, well over a thousand years ago, before the dwarves were decimated and driven out of their homeland. In the Sunset of that terrible conflict, the orcs moved into Niesse and took the fortresses for their own use and transformed them into bastions of orc depravity.
